With the 2024 Euros right around the corner and hosted in Germany, we thought it would be appropriate to share some information about the ten German cities that will be hosting the 51 games from Friday, 14th June 2024 – Sunday, 14th July 2024 and the stadiums that they will be played at. Learn about the history of the city’s, the teams that play there, as well as the stadiums themselves. Discover fun activities to do during your stay and interesting places, monuments and buildings to see and explore whilst you’re there.
Berlin
Known for its rich history, Berlin will be the stage for the Euros 2024 final on July 14th 2024. The final will take place at the Olympiastadion Berlin stadium which is the home of Hertha Berlin and has a capacity of 74,475. This stadium was built on the 1st August 1936 so has lots of history to discover.
Visit the iconic Brandenburg Gate, the historic Reichstag building, or take a walk along the remnants of the Berlin wall and learn more about its stories. If you have extra time available why not take part in a walking tour of Berlin and take in the sights and learn interesting facts from the experts.

Cologne
Nestled along the Rhine River, Cologne exudes an enchanting medieval charm. However, don’t let that take away from the stunning Cologne stadium (RheinEnergieSTADION), known for its goosebump atmosphere. Cologne stadium has a 50,000 capacity, and you can sure hear them all when inside! Opened in 2004 and home to FC Köln, this stadium and city are one to add to your Germany itinerary.
Marvel at the stunning Cologne Cathedral and uncover the history of Cologne’s old town. Take a walk along the Rhine River or even book a river cruise to really take in the beauty of the city. There’s even a chocolate museum if you’re a tourist with a sweet tooth! Did you know that the Cologne Cathedral or Kölner Dom, took over 600 years to build and has the largest swinging bell in the world? Definitely one to visit during your stay!
Dortmund
Famed for its passion for football, Dortmund is a city for the devoted sports enthusiasts. The main attraction is the BVB Stadion Dortmund (Signal Iduna Park) with a staggering 81,365 capacity, you might just need some ear plugs for this visit. Built in 1974, the stadium has seen some amazing games of football, but nothing quite matches the Südtribüne (South Bank) terrace, the largest terrace for standing spectators in European football, nicknamed Die Gelbe Wand, "The Yellow Wall".
But that’s not all Dortmund has to offer! Spend time exploring Westfalenpark, with its beautiful forests, lakes and wildlife or experience the city’s industrial heritage at the Zollern Colliery Museum. If you want to explore the whole city then why not get a double decker bus city tour to really make the most of your stay.

Düsseldorf
Düsseldorf really epitomises the perfect mix of modernity and tradition along the scenic banks of the Rhine River. The Dusseldorf arena (Merkur Spiel-Arean), home of Fortuna Düsseldorf will be hosting games for the Euros 2024. Built in 2004 and capacity of 54,600, we’re sure you won’t want to miss a game here.
Düsseldorf known for its fashion industry and art scene, also has plenty of other great places to discover. Explore the Alstadt (Old Town), and visit art museums such as Kunstsammlung Nordrhein-Westfalen. If you fancy something different then why not experience the city on a segway tour?

Frankfurt
Frankfurt, a busy financial hub, is a city of contrasts, boasting a stunning skyline, but also full of historical charm. Eintracht Frankfurt call this city home and play at the modern Frankfurt Arena (Deutsche Bank Park), built in 2005, with a great capacity of 51,5000, this stadium is sure to be a place of great memories during the 2024 Euros!
Come to Frankfurt and admire the modern skyline from Main Tower, or visit the beautiful Römerberg square, the heart of Frankfurt's old town. Frankfurt is known for its great nightlife, so why not go on a pub crawl to see more of the city, just make sure you aren’t too hungover to watch the football.

Gelsenkirchen
Located in the heart of the Ruhr region, Gelsenkirchen boasts a rich industrial heritage. Explore Arena AufSchalke (Veltins-Arena), home of FC Schalke 04, a main attraction of the city. Built in 2001, at the time the stadium was one of the most modern stadiums in Europe, and still is, with a fully retractable roof, the ability to remove the pitch for other events, LED floodlights and free Wi-Fi - (which we won’t complain about one bit!) Don’t forget about the iconic players tunnel designed to look like a coal mine to reflect the city’s history. The stadium is known to be one of the best atmospheres in Europe and with 62,271 capacity we can see why!
Whilst visiting Gelsenkirchen, why not visit Zoom Erlebniswelt, a unique and modern zoo experience or discover Nordstern Park, a former coal mine, so a great place to learn more about Gelsenkirchen’s rich history.

Hamburg
Hamburg, full of maritime spirit and culture, is a city of waterways, history and great entertainment. The Volksparkstadion Hamburg will be hosting games for the 2024 Euros, built in 2000 and home of Hamburger SV. With a capacity of 57,000, this will make a great stadium to experience some unforgettable football memories.
The second largest city in Germany, Hamburg has plenty of fun activities to sink your teeth into whilst visiting! From the stunning Elbphilharmonie Hamburg concert hall which is a must see, to the bustling port of Hamburg, which gives Hamburg its nickname of the ‘Gateway to the World’, there is a wide range of places to discover. Don’t miss out on a city beer walking tour, a way to learn interesting facts about the city and of course try local beers.
Did you know that Hamburg has more bridges than Venice and Amsterdam combined, with around 2,500? Seem’s like Germany likes their bridges doesn’t it!
Leipzig
Leipzig a city steeped in cultural significance and renowned for its pivotal role in music history, is one to add to the bucket list. Leipzig Stadium or the Red Bull Arena as it’s commonly known, has a capacity of 47,069 and is home to RB Leipzig. This stadium has become one of Germany’s top stadiums and a great place to experience the Germany 2024 Euros atmosphere!
When visiting Leipzig, explore the historical old town and city centre, there’s plenty of walking tours to get the full experience and ask any questions you might have. See the monument to the Battle of the Nations, the 1813 battle of Leipzig, or take a visit to Baumwollspinnerei, a former cotton mill now turned into art galleries.

Munich
Munich, the capital of Bavaria, the largest German state by land area is a city with unique charm, and rich history. The Kings of the Bundesliga, Bayern Munich call this beautiful city home and play at the stunning Allianz Arena, a stadium that is one of Europe’s most modern and is unique for its 300,000 LED lights that allow the stadium to change its colours, sounds cool, doesn’t it? With a capacity of 75,000 making, its Germany’s second largest stadium, get ready for a loud atmosphere and some spectacular football!
Head to Munich to experience some Bavarian charm and explore Munich’s old town as well as the Marienplatz, the central square of the city and its most famous, dating back to 1158. With a capacity of 60,441, could this be the stadium you make your Euros 2024 memories in?
Stuttgart is one of the strongest economic regions in Europe, and the place where Porsche’s are manufactured and home to the Mercedes-Benz, so why not visit their museums during your city stay and get a glimpse into the automotive industry.
